Sharon Lee Klunk

March 19, 1938- Nov. 8, 2022

Sharon Lee Klunk, age 84, of Washington, Iowa, formerly of Port Washington, Wis., Mountain Home, Ark., and Grand Island, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at the United Presbyterian Home.

Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sharon was born March 19, 1938, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of Edward and Eileen (Young) Hardiek.

She graduated from Northside High School in Fort Wayne in 1956 and then received her nursing degree from Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wis.

Sharon was united in marriage to Robert Gustav Klunk on Jan. 2, 1959, in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Sharon lived most of her life in Union Grove and Port Washington, Wis. She moved to Washington in June of 2020 to be with her daughter.

She was a registered nurse at Baxter Memorial Hospital in Mountain Home, Ark.

Sharon loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, traveling abroad with her husband, singing and spending time with her grandkids. She had a sharp wit and very kind heart. Family was the most important thing to her.

While she is at peace with her Savior, she will be so greatly missed by those she left behind.

She is survived by her son John Klunk of Port Washington, Wis.; daughter Marcy Stanford and husband Ebon of Washington, Iowa; and son Kurt Klunk and wife Sarah of Burlington, Wis.; five grandchildren, Brendan Stanford (wife Jaleesa), Matthew Stanford, Reuben Stanford, Cory Klunk and Colton Klunk; three great-grandchildren, Emery and Myra Stanford and Barrett Stanford; brother Dave Hardiek and wife Karen of Algoma, Ind.; sister Brenda McCart of Wolf Lake, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, daughter-in-law Christine Klunk, sister Linda Pick and brother Michael Hardiek.
