Scooping up a win

Cedar Grove-Belgium High School’s cross country teams again competed in the annual Ben and Jerry’s four-mile relay last month. The Rockets’ version of the race has the first of each four-person team eat a pint of ice cream as fast as he or she can, run a mile on the school’s track, then slap hands with the next runner, who follows the same process. If the ice cream doesn’t stay down, the runner must do an extra lap. That hasn’t happened in the four years of the event. The team of (from left) David Tarter, Nas Cantu, Judah Dulmes and Jack Krause won in 31 minutes, 36 seconds.
