Ruth V. Holman

Ruth V. Holman (nee Voigt) passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, at the age of 101.

She was the loving mother of Daniel (Julie) Pierce, the late Sandra (Marc) Bartlett and the late Kathryn (Donald) Skarda.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Emilie (Klauser)  Voigt, and sisters June Schnyder, Arlene Prust  and Doris Roberts, her first husband Harold Pierce, her second husband Burdett Holman and dear companion James Cuda.  

She was the stepmother to Peter (Sue) Holman and the late Christine Burns, the cherished grandmother of Aaron Pierce (Trimby Olson), Brooke (Collin) Westphal and Shawn Skarda and the step-grandmother to Eric Holman, Lisa Holman Urcia (Chuck Dudenhefer), Sara (Michael) McKinnon  and Christopher Burns (Christina). 

Ruth is further survived by many loving and loved relatives and friends.

Ruth proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. She was past president of Wisconsin Chapter of Women Marines Association and a member of United Women Veterans, American Legion Post 449, Brookfield, Wis., American Legion Post 288, Cedarburg, Wis., and American Historical Society of Germans from Russia.   

A special thank you to the staff at Lasata Care Center, Cedarburg, Wis., for their kind and compassionate care given to Ruth.

Inurnment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, on Aug. 9, 2024, at 11 a.m.
