Ronald Carl Albrecht

Ronald Carl Albrecht, age 86, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at his home in Stirling, N.J.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on March 21, 1937, the first of four children born to Carl and Mabel (Miller) Albrecht.

After graduating as salutatorian from Milwaukee North High School, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied mechanical engineering.

On Sept. 15, 1962, Ron married Janice Rosewitz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington, Wis. They lived in Port Washington for three years before moving to Greendale, Wis.

Ron was employed as a mechanical engineer for Meta-Mold Co. in Cedarburg, Wis., and Aluminum Co. Engineering (ACE Co.) in Milwaukee, Wis. After moving to Stirling, N.J., in June 1973, Ron worked as a design engineer at Mold-Cast Products Inc. in Newark and later at Unimatic Mfg. Corp. in Fairfield, N.J. After leaving Unimatic, he started his own business, The Albrecht Corp.

Ron was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Stirling, N.J.  He was a member of the adult choir and prayer group and served as a Eucharistic minister. He was instrumental in starting a preschool program for children at St. Vincent de Paul. He served on St. Vincent’s School Board for many years, was a past vice president and president of the Home and School Association, was a president of the Parish Council and served as liaison to the Diocesan Lay Council. He co-chaired the Parish Advisory Board, was a member of the Building Committee and a past member of the RCIA team. He and his wife Jan co-chaired the parish’s 100th anniversary and church dedication dinner dance.

Ron was a member of the North Jersey Orchid Society, serving as president for one term. He enjoyed gardening, tending to the ponds in his yard and solving Sudoku puzzles.

Preceding him in death were his parents Carl and Mabel, his infant brother Ralph, his infant brother Raymond, his sister Rosalyn “Lynn” Beretta, his mother and father-in-law Erwin and Rose (Begusch) Rosewitz, his sister-in-law Mary Ann Liermann and Mary Ann’s husband Donald.

It was at the Liermann’s farm that Ron met Jan, his future wife.

Ron is survived by his wife Janice (Rosewitz) Albrecht, four daughters, Tamara Albrecht, Angela (Phillip) Shymanski, Victoria (Brian) Carduner and Rebecca (Michael) Polunas, and one son, Ronald Brian Albrecht.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Ashley, Michael, Joseph, Courtney, Paige, Kristin and Alexandria, and one great granddaughter, Lyra.

Ron is also survived by a niece and a nephew in California, sisters-in-law Jean (Joseph) Gasser, Joan (Francis) Ansay and Diane (Al) Zettler, and 12 nieces and nephews in Wisconsin.

Visitation was held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 250 Bebout Ave., Stirling, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial followed at 11 a.m., with Father Richard Carton officiating.
