Roger Larson

Roger A. Larson of Grafton died Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Azura Memory Care in Clinton, where he recently resided. He was 65.

Mr. Larson was born on March 16, 1953, in Crookston, Minn., to Victor and Shirley Brag Larson.

In the late 1960s, the family moved to Fredonia and Roger attended Ozaukee High School.

Mr. Larson enjoyed music and had a knack for electronics. He took a job at Sprague Electric in Grafton, where he met Linda Wegner. They married on Nov. 27, 1976.

The couple lived in the Saukville area for many years before settling in Grafton.

Mr. Larson taught himself to play guitar and was able to play by ear.

He enjoyed repairing almost anything electronic and worked at numerous repair shops in the Milwaukee and surrounding area.

At night. he ran the sound board for musical groups such as the Eddie Butts Band.

The most fun he ever had, his wife said, was when he worked as a guitar and sound technician at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

Despite living in Wisconsin most of his life, he always maintained his love for his hometown team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Mr. Larson is survived by his wife, Linda of Grafton; children Justin Larsn of Cedar Grove, Shani (Brian) Guokas of Port Washington and also Tina (Ken) Katzer of Cape Coral, Fla., and Vicky Kratz-Matous of Hawaii; grandchildren Alexander, Emmalynn and Madelyne Larson; sisters Karen (Steve) Buss of Sun Prairie and Cindy (Tony) Blazek of Lodi; and stepsister Misti (Pat) Depies of Random Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Cheryl Larson, brothers David and Virgil and granddaughter Shirley Larson.

A celebration of Mr. Larson’s life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Poole Funeral Home in Port Washington.

Memorials to the Ozaukee County Office on Aging are suggested.
