Rodney Teunissen

Rodney A. Teunissen of Cedar Grove passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee after a brief illness. He was 73 years old.
Rodney was born Jan. 31, 1948, in Sheboygan, the son of Anthony and Mildred (nee Brasser) Teunissen.
He graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1966.
Rodney was a lifelong farmer who worked alongside his father until 1971, when he and his brother Dale took over the family farm with their respective families.
On July 10, 1971, Rodney married Jane VanderJagt in Cedar Grove. She preceded him in death in 2013.
Rodney was a lifelong member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove.
He enjoyed vacations, casinos trips and rarely missed Saturday night date night at Schwarz Supper Club with his wife.
He also enjoyed riding his ATV, hunting, visiting with family and friends and making lots of memories with his grandkids. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and enjoyed his farm antique collection.
All who knew him will always remember his gift of gab and all of his stories.
Rodney is survived by his children Paul (Lisa) Teunissen and their children Noah and Isaiah Teunissen of Cedar Grove and Lori (John-Peter T.) Norum of Sheboygan.
He is further survived by his brothers Dale H. (Betty) of Cedar Grove and Glenn of Florida; sisters-in-law Linda Teunissen of Arizona, Jean (Donald) Schreurs of Cedar Grove and Linda VanderJagt of Hartford; brother-in-law Mark (Karen) VanderJagt of Arizona; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jane, his parents and brother Steven “Stubby” Teunissen.
A funeral to celebrate Rodney’s life took place at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, with Pastor Bradford officiating.
He was laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery beside his wife.
The family received visitors at Wenig Funeral Home, Oostburg, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, and again at the church on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 10 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in his name for First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove for the youth ministries.
