Robert Baumann

Robert W. Baumann, 68, of Fredonia died Friday, June 8, at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls.
Mr. Baumann was born in Alexandria, Va., on Sept. 9, 1949.
“His quick wit, sarcastic humor and no-nonsense approach drew people to him,” his daughter Tracy Baumann said. “He fought an unbelievable battle to try to stay here with us. Those who knew and loved him have gained a valiant guardian angel.”
Mr. Baumann enjoyed seeing friends during weekly games of sheepshead and cribbage.
He cherished spending time with his daughter and grandson.
He was an avid sports fan who loved watching the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Bucks and NASCAR, but most of all he enjoyed seeing his grandson play football and basketball.
After retiring from Charter Steel, Mr. Baumann moved to Florida, where he took a part-time job as a restaurant host.
A few years later, he returned to Wisconsin to be closer to his family.
Mr. Baumann is survived by his daughter Tracy Baumann, grandson Lleyton Allen and brother Glenn (Bonnie Keller).
His family would like to give a special thanks to his former wife Colleen Kleckner, Gary Bertram, Chris Treder, Wendy Cary, and Bob and Jessie Wheaton for visiting him in the hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Dawg House in Waubeka.
Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is handling the arrangements.
