Riveredge plant sale runs through Oct. 20

Riveredge Nature Center is holding a fall native tree and shrub sale through Oct. 20.

Riveredge is partnering with Johnson’s Nursery to offer native trees and shrubs at 20% off of their retail price.

Among the species offered are elderberry, dogwood, serviceberry, bittersweet and hazelnut.

Native woody species like these support local and migratory wildlife and curb avian decline and also help curb invasive plant growth.

The plants are also low maintenance.

The prices range from $13 to $300.

Orders may be picked up at the Riveredge Sugarbush House from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.
