Randy Leahon Meeks

Randy Leahon Meeks, 72, of Sterling, Ill., passed away on June 22, 2025, at 12:43 p.m. at Rock River Hospice & Home.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1952, in Sterling, Ill., to Cloyd and Lois Meeks.

He married Jeanne Dillingham on July 1, 1973.

He was a devoted husband to Jeanne; brother to Dennis (Debra) Meeks; a loving father to Aaron (Leah) Meeks, Nathan (Michelle) Meeks, Kathrine Sue (Jimmy) Gillen and Seth (Anya) Meeks; and Papa to 15 grandchildren.

Dad was a hard-working, dedicated family man who loved the Lord with all his heart. He spent 50 years working as a barber and was known for his free counseling sessions, words of wisdom and sharing of his faith in Jesus Christ. He always bragged about his children and spoke praises of his wife of nearly 52 years.

Though Dad may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of being a faithful husband, loving father and all around authentic man honored. He was a godly man of integrity, honesty, humility and loyalty, yet he understood his need for a savior — Jesus Christ. He left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father Cloyd (1999), mother Lois (2024), brother Dennis (2002), infant sister Patricia (1950) and youngest son Seth (2022).

A public viewing was conducted on Saturday June 28, 2025, from 10:30 to 10:55 a.m. at Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls, of which he was a charter member, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial concluded at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Rock River Hospice Home or Beacon of Hope Hospice.

We find comfort in knowing that Dad is at home with Christ and his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared and the memories we will cherish forever. We love you forever.
