Raising the roof at Freedom Park

Preston Bell and James Bolt (top photo) of Commercial Recreation Specialists on Monday erected a canopy over the concrete pad at Freedom Park next to the post office in Fredonia. Final grading in the park is expected to be completed this week, with topsoil and seeding to be done next week. Some residents have petitioned the village to add the names of Eugene and Vera Emmer to the park’s name to honor them for donating land to the Northern Ozaukee School District. The village Parks Committee is expected to discuss the issue when it next meets. Photos by Sam Arendt
