The Port Washington High School swim record board has 11 events, not counting two diving entries.
Charlie Prince’s name will be next to at least eight of those, and there’s still time.
The star senior added to his legacy last week, breaking two more school marks that brought his tally to eight.
At Cedarburg, Prince broke Zach Miller’s 100-yard freestyle mark of 49.48 seconds by finishing in 49.29.
He also beat Adam Jajtner’s mark in the 200 freestyle of 1:49.44 by swimming it in 1:47.44.
Coach Brittany Roecker isn’t convinced that Prince is done setting individual records.
“He just doesn’t have the 500, which he probably will get this week,” she said, “and he doesn’t have two relays.”
Prince has everything else — the 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, along with the 200 medley relay he holds with Jack Sickles, Benjamin Falkenberg and Finn Ritter.
“All of my coaches at Ozaukee Aquatics and here at the high school have really helped with getting good at all of the strokes so I can be versatile and used wherever, whenever,” Prince said.
“Having the most records is a weird feeling for sure but also a great feeling. I’m glad I can do all this under Port’s name. It’s so far been a blast and I can’t wait for the rest of the season.”
Port lost the meet to the Bulldogs, 93-79. Prince’s two records were Port’s only wins.
The Pirates had six seconds: Jakob Greene, 200 individual medley, 2:38.66; Caden Hafele, 50 freestyle, 24.29; Caleb Winker, 500 freestyle, 6:52.63; Noah Blavat, 100 backstroke, 1:11.41; the 200 freestyle relay of Ian Brown Colton Pease, Winker and Nathan Nisiewicz, 1:53.81; and the 400 freestyle relay of Brown, Green, Hafele and Prince, 3:59.57.
Port lost at home last Thursday to Germantown, 94-81. Prince won the 100 butterfly in 54.96 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.12. Blavat led a 1-2-3 finish in the 500 freestyle, winning in 6:13.59. Then came Greene in 6:14.92 and Winker in 6:45.26. Nisiewicz won the 50 freestyle in 25.34 seconds and the 100 in 58.91. The 400 freestyle relay of Blavat, Greene, Hafele and Prince won in 4:00.36.
At Saturday’s Bulldog Invite, Prince broke his own record in the 200 individual medley, winning in 1:59.39. He also won the 100 breakstroke in 59.12 seconds.
Port scored 110.5 points and finished sixth in the 17-team event. Whitefish Bay won with 459 points.
Port’s other top finishers were: 200 medley relay of Pease, Prince, Hafele and Nisiewicz, seventh, 1:50.53; 400 freestyle relay of Greene, Brown, Hafele and Prince, seventh, 3:43.91; Hafele, 100 freestyle, 11th, 55.39, and 50 freestyle, 12th, 24.07; and 200 freestyle relay of Brown, Winker, Green and Nisiewicz, 12th, 1:43.26.
Grafton scored 67 points and was 10th.
