Poull to address Military Historians
Vietnam veteran Ted Poull will be the speaker for the Monday, Jan. 16, meeting of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Military Historians at the Rose-Harms American Legion Hall in Grafton.
Poull, a Saukville resident, is a founding member of the Wisconsin Vietnam Vets and was a member of the U.S. Army’s 1st Air Cavalry Division in 1969.
His division was responsible for netting one of the largest caches of munitions found in the Vietnam War.
Poull served in 21 air combat missions and has hair-raising stories of ambushes and boobie traps.
In May 1970, he was among those who invaded a Communist sanctuary, depriving enemy forces of much-needed supplies and ammunition, exceeding all expectations. The troopers and the ARVN soldiers found millions of rounds of ammunition, 300 trucks, a Porsche sports car and a Mercedes-Benz sedan.
Admission is $25, which includes a buffet dinner and the presentation. A limited number of $10 seats are available for the program.
Doors to the hall at 1540 13th Ave. open at 5:30 p.m. The program begins at 6:30 p.m.
