Port High honors grad with long resume, Fish Day hat

Photos by Sam Arendt

Just because 1974 Port Washington High School graduate Tom LaCrosse had a distinguished military career and now leads a division of the U.S. Department of Defense doesn’t mean he was shy about donning his Fish Day hat in honor of his hometown’s summer festival during his induction into Port High Wall of Fame Friday, April 13, in the school auditorium. After the ceremony, LaCrosse (left in photo at left) and Principal Eric Burke posed with the plaque honoring LaCrosse that will be mounted in the school. As director of Defense Support of Civil Authorities, LaCrosse coordinates and oversees the Department of Defense during disasters, public health emergencies and major events. He is a retired Army colonel who served for more than 27 years in posts around the world.
