Port Washington’s golfers took seventh place with a team score of 175 at the Hartford Golf Club last week, but coach Scott Kosidowski said the Pirates are showing improvement.

Reilly Sullivan shot 41 and Antonio Feciskonin shot 42.

“We still need to learn how to score and become more consistent in our putting and short game. My players are beginning to buy into the process, but it takes time,” Kosidowski said.

“The next couple of weeks will be hectic, but we need to continue to work hard and results will follow.”

At Fire Ridge in the Town of Grafton on Monday, the Pirates shot 181 for sixth place of 10 teams. Homestead won with 164.

Grafton took eighth with 187.

Feciskonin led Port with a 41. Chad Spaeth shot 45, Dan Barney 46 and Max Kelly and Jordan Gardipee each a 49.

Jaden Polack and Adam Schnell led Grafton, each shooting 45. Tyler Tsui shot 47, Jacob Aleknavicus 50 and Andrew Henning 51.

Port and Grafton were scheduled to play at the North Shore Country Club on Tuesday, Hidden Glen Golf Club on Thursday, West Bend Lakes on Friday and the Washington County Golf Course on Monday, May 14.

In addition, Port was to play Saturday at Riverside Golf Course and the Washington County Course.
