Port Washington High School senior Kaytlin Kassens scored 11 points in her final high school game on Feb. 19 at Cedarburg.

The No. 11-seeded Pirates lost, 68-26, to the No. 6-seeded Bulldogs.

The Pirates handled the Bulldogs’ pressure early on, coach Jakob Wahl said, but didn’t make wide-open shots. As a result, the Bulldogs built a 35-14 halftime lead.

Keelie Schumacher and Tiana Davis each scored five points.

Senior point guard Lizzie Egan, nursing an ankle injury came off the bench and didn’t score in 19 minutes but rebounded and played good defense, Wahl said.

Kassens, he said, improved drastically.

“The jump that she made from last year to this year is probably more than anyone we’ve seen here in the last couple of years,” Wahl said.

Port finished 1-22.
