Port club honors student for her community service

The Port Washington-Saukville Rotary Club recently honored Port High School senior Lainey Holmes (middle) by presenting her with the Service Above Self Award, which reflects the club’s commitment to community service. Representing the club during the award presentation at its  May 15 meeting at Twisted Willow in Port was Dave Didier (left), and Lainey’s mother Brook (right) joined her for the photo. Lainey, who graduated on Sunday, was honored because of her volunteer work with organizations and causes that include the Ozaukee Food Alliance in Saukville, Kapco’s Kids2Kids holiday toy drive and Ozaukee 4-H. The award came with $250, which at Lainey’s request was donated to the Food Alliance.                   Photo by Sam Arendt
