Port’s poppy winners

The Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Auxiliary Unit 82 recognized three young artists who won honors at the annual Poppy Poster Contest. This year’s winners included (front) Clementine Didier of St. John XXIII School, who earned a first place in the national contest’s first and second grade category and whose artwork is on display at the Auxiliary’s national headquarters, (second row) Angelina Ellefson, who earned an honorable mention in the grades six and seven category at the local level, and Birdie Gremminger, who took first place in the grades four and five category at the state level.
