Poetry reading to be held March 15 in Port

A reading of original works by three local poets will be held at Gallery 224 in Port Washington from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 15.
The poets, all from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, are Kathryne Gargano, Korey Hurni and Bea Szymkowiak.
The reading is the fourth event setting the spoken word in the midst of the current visual art exhibit at the gallery.
Karl Pradel, the gallery’s poetry coordinator, said, “I couldn’t be happier with what is happening here in Port Washington. What was initially an experiment has evolved into a series. We’ve attracted some incredible talent, and the attendance has rivaled readings taking place in Milwaukee and other big cities. It’s talent, energy, and environment converging, and a community eager to support.”
Audience interaction with the poets following the reading is welcome.
Gallery 224 is at 224 E. Main St., in the Port Harbor Center.
