Planting meadows is topic for Aug. 27 talk

“Mini Meadows: Grow a Little Patch of Colorful Flowers Anywhere Around Your Yard!” will be presented as a Zoom program at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.

The program, sponsored by the Ozaukee Master Gardeners, will be presented by Mike Lizotte, aka “The Seed Man.”

From choosing the right variety of seeds, preparing the soil, sowing evenly and watering well, Lizotte will take participants through the process of successfully creating a miniature meadow that suits their climate, soil and growing goals. 

He will also discuss the keys to creating, caring for and reaping the rewards of thriving meadows through the seasons year after year.

Lizotte, owner and managing partner of American Meadows, has been in the business for more than 30 years. He’s the author of “Mini Meadows: Grow a Little Patch of Colorful Flowers Anywhere around Your Yard” and has been featured on national television shows such as “Growing a Greener World.”
