PHOTO OP ED: Fast run for good causes

Pettin Kanana (left), the overall winner of the 10K fundraising race the Snow Runners snowmobile club of Belgium organized on April 17, streaked over the 6.22-mile “Sunset Safari” course ending in Harrington Beach State Park at a 5.79 minutes-per-mile pace. Scores of other participants in the Moonlight Meltdown event ran and walked shorter distances at slower paces, but they all raised funds equally to help the Belgium American Legion post send a veteran and guardian on a Stars and Stripes Honor flight and support Belgium Fire and Rescue, as well as the Snow Runners.
