PHOTO EDITORIAL: Just strollin’ on the breakwater

Visitors flock to the Port Washington breakwater in summer. The arm of concrete and stone on the north side of the harbor offers a half-mile long walk to the lighthouse, a close-up relationship with Lake Michigan and some outstanding views of boating activity and the city’s lakefront. One recent visitor was a Canada goose that enjoyed a leisurely stroll atop the breakwater’s wave-stopping walls. The big bird seemed not the least bit bothered by the humans sharing the experience, including Jodi Zaske, who took this photo of the goose with a webbed foot raised in mid-stride.
