He married Judith Berget on Dec. 19, 1965, and they eventually settled in Belgium, Wis. Together they had four active children.

During this time, he continued his education, earning a master’s degree in school psychology. This led to a job in northern Wisconsin, working for CESA 8 as a school psychologist in multiple schools across the district.

Philip, Judith and family lived in Laona, Wis., for 20 years before moving back to Lake Michigan in Belgium.

Philip grew up playing baseball and loved the great outdoors, especially skiing and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. He was very curious, enjoyed reading and was a life-long learner.

He also loved camping and traveling to national parks across the United States and Canada, as well as Europe.  He was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Port Washington.

He is survived by his wife Judith; children Cheryl Olson (Hugo Wendling), Eric (Susan) Olson, Kristofer (Nancy) Olson and Laura (Lennart) Moche; grandchildren Aiden, Riley, Charles, Noah, Caleb, Peter, Axel and Johan; and close cousin Susan Janscha and family.
