Pauline Schmidt

On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer, Pauline (Prom) Schmidt passed away at her Port Washington home surrounded by family. She was 74 years old.
Pauline was a cosmetologist and worked at Kate’s Place in Port. She also did hair for the elderly in several nursing homes. In later years she worked as a waitress in many local restaurants.
She was an artist. She enjoyed gardening, bowling and darts. She loved to cook and bake. She was famous for her French silk pie. She celebrated holidays like no other, especially Christmas. Most of all she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife.
On Oct. 28, 2000, she married the love of her life, Daniel Schmidt.
She was the daughter of Henry and Josephine (Krier) Prom of Belgium, Wis. She was the youngest of eight children.
Those left to carry on her family traditions are her husband Dan Schmidt; her daughters Karen (Gary) Krainz, Lori (Mark) Kirchberg and Kathy Grabarczyk; five granddaughters, Nicole Moza, Desirae Moza, Molly Goldman, Chloe Goldman and Jordan Kirchberg; and two great-granddaughters, Amariya Moza and Gyavanna Moza.
She is further survived by five siblings, Henry (Carol) Prom, Suzie (the late Micky)Arndt, Paula (the late Butch) Klopp, Jeff Schmidt and Jane (Bob) Watry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard (Eleanor) Prom, Gerald (Marilyn) Prom and Floyd (Nancy) Prom and sister Shirley (Kenneth) Conrad.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, June 11, 2021, at Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, from 4 to 6 p.m.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6 p.m. Desserts, appetizers, and refreshments will be served immediately after at Harbor Hills. Please join us.
