Pauline Mondloch

Mrs. Pauline Mondloch of Fredonia passed away unexpectedly at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at the age of 77.
Pauline was born in Barren Springs, Va., on July 22, 1943, the daughter of James and Norma Phillips Semones.
She attended local schools, graduating from Sylvatus High School before going on to earn her nursing degree at Rockingham Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Harrisonburg, Va.
She worked as a nurse at Radford Hospital and Radford Arsenal before joining the U.S. Air Force and serving during the Vietnam War as a flight nurse.
On Aug. 7, 1971, she was united in marriage with John Mondloch at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Random Lake.
The couple served their last duty station in Alaska before being honorably discharged and moving to Wisconsin. They briefly lived in Milwaukee before settling in Fredonia in 1974 and raising their family. He preceded her in death in 2014.
Mrs. Mondloch worked as an ICU nurse at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington and continued as the hospital became St. Mary’s, later moving to the Mequon campus under Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee. She retired in 2005.
Pauline was a member of St. John XXIII Parish in Port Washington and was a former member of Holy Cross Parish.
She was passionate about birdwatching and enjoyed flower gardening and raising her family. She loved attending events for her children and grandchildren. In her younger days, she enjoyed camping with her family and traveling back home to Virginia to visit relatives.
Those left to honor her memory include her children Katrina (Dennis) Laurent of Green Bay and Kristofer (Jessica) Mondloch of Appleton; and grandchildren Austin, Heather and Ryan Laurent and Harper and Macklyn Mondloch. She is further survived by brothers James “Rodney” (Karen) Semones of Austinville, Va., and Tim Semones of Dobson, N.C.; and sisters Nancy (the late Larry) Sadler of Holland, Ohio, Brenda (Rex) Spicer of Sylvatus, Va., and Ann (Randy) Worrell of Dugspur, Va. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Linda Semones of Sylvatus, Va., Patricia Semones of Lambsburg, Va., and Mary Jacoby of Port Washington; brothers-in-law Jim (Linda) Mondloch of Waldo, Jerry (Mary) Mondloch of Adell and Jim Jacoby of Fredonia; nieces; nephews; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband John; sister Wanda (the late JC) Luper and brothers Clinton and Glenn Semones.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside. Military honors will follow the service.
The family will receive visitors at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. There will be a walk-through by the Waubeka VFW Women’s Auxiliary at noon.
Pauline will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lake Church, in the Town of Belgium at a later date in a private ceremony.
