Panel to discuss local farming, art exhibit

A panel discussion on local farming will be held at the Cedarburg Public Library on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The 2 to 3:15 p.m. discussion is being held in conjunction with, “Judith Friebert: Pastel Pastures,” a new exhibit at the Cedarburg Art Museum.

The discussion, titled “Our Dairy Farms: Present and Future,” will be moderated by Friebert.

The panel discussion will include local farmers who manage big and small operations as well as a co-op representative who will discuss how to maintain and grow farming in our community.

The discussion will be livestreamed over Zoom. The meeting ID is 871 7097 7705.

The library is at W63 N589 Hanover Ave.

Those attending are invited to the museum, W63 N675 Washington Ave., to view the Friebert exhibit following the panel discussion.

Friebert has focused her art on depicting small, family-owned dairy farms for many years, and through her works she seeks to show appreciation for farmers and their commitment.

She works as much as possible on site, using charcoal and pastels on paper. Her exhibit runs through Jan. 8.
