Ozaukee, Port track stars shine at senior meet

Ozaukee’s Emma Richards already proved she was the best in the state at shot put and discus by winning Division 3 titles in each last month.

Now, she has shown she is among the best of all seniors in a three-state area.

Richards won the discus with a throw of 152 feet, 11 inches, at the Senior All-Star Spotlight in Dubuque, Iowa, last month, beating throwers from Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.

She took third in the shot put with a throw of 42-6.

Port Washington star runner Alexis Reichardt took second in the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 25.2 seconds, third in the 1,600 in 5:38.34 and fourth in the high jump by clearing 5-2.

Iowa won the meet with 102 points. Wisconsin scored 67, and Illinois three.
