Ozaukee County’s newest centenarian

Andrew Dieringer (seated) turned 100 on Friday, Dec. 30, with a celebration befitting a man of his age. His friends and family, including children (from left) Bill Dieringer, Chris Perrine, Dave Dieringer, Jeanne Karrels and Chuck Dieringer, gathered at Open Door Bible Church to fete Dieringer, who lives in Port Washington. Dieringer was born in Fond du Lac on Dec. 30, 1922, to Thomas and Olive Dieringer. He lived in Fond du Lac until the 1940s, when his family moved to Belgium. He married Audrey Thelen on Jan. 26, 1946. She died on May 10, 2019. Mr. Dieringer was a dairy farmer in the Belgium area, retiring in 1988. Six years later, he sold the farm and moved to Cedar Grove, then to Port Washington. He and his wife had eight children, 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great-grandchildren. Photo by Sam Arendt
