Outdoor learning held at Riveredge

Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville has some educational events scheduled for May and June.

Warbler Life History and ID Workshop will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25.

Attendees will learn techniques for field identification, learn the histories of the birds and enhance their birdwatching skills.

The program is open to children ages 10 and older accompanied by an adult.

Member children admission is $20. Members age 12 and older are $30.

Nonmember children are $30; nonmember adults are $40.

Registration is required by 5 p.m. Thursday, May 23.

• The Ozaukee Washington Bird Coalition will hold Birding at the Bog by Canoe or Kayak from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 24.

Adults will do about one mile of paddling in Mud Lake in the Cedarburg Bog and about 1-1/2 miles of walking to look for late migrants and birds uncommon to southeast Wisconsin. Canoes will be provided for $10. With advanced permission, a limited number of personal kayaks and canoes will be allowed.

Registration is required by 5 p.m. Thursday, May 23. The event is free aside from canoe rental.

• Foraging and Ethics in Southeastern Wisconsin will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 24 for children ages 14 and older accompanied by an adult.

A Riveredge educator will teach sustainable foraging on a guided hike through Riveredge Wellspring Campus.

Attendees will learn to identify edible plants and learn secrets of wild edibles.

Members are $15. Nonmembers are $20.

Registration is due by 11:55 p.m. Thursday, May 23.
