Opening reception set for museum exhibit
The opening reception for the Cedarburg Art Museum exhibit “Staycation: Oil paintings by Marc Anderson” will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 21.
An artist talk will be held at 5:30 p.m.
The exhibit, which runs through July 16, highlights Anderson’s appreciation for the unique scenery that Wisconsin has to offer.
Anderson will also host a plein air painting workshop from 9 a.m. to noon May 13 at Cedar Creek Park in Cedarburg.
Anderson will discuss the fundamentals of painting en plein air, or on location, as well as drawing, composition and color theory.
Those attending are encouraged to bring their own chair, bug spray and sunscreen. Water will be provided.
In the event of inclement weather, the demonstration will be moved to Anderson’s studio at 2289 Ludington Ave., Wauwatosa.
The workshop is free for museum members and $5 for nonmembers. Registration will close May 6.
The museum is at W62 N675 Washington Ave.
