Oct. 19 event will offer stargazing for beginners
The Grafton Parks and Recreation Department will host a Beginner Stargazer event that teaches youngsters how to navigate the night sky and locate celestial objects.
The event will be at Lime Kiln Park near the octagon shelter from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19. Those interested should arrive a half hour before and bring a flashlight covered with red plastic or a few layers of material from a brown paper bag.
Participants can also bring binoculars or a telescope.
Participants must register in advance at www.qualitylifegrafton.com. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20.
