November activities set at Port library

November activities at the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington include a number of book club meetings, a program on dinosaurs and the start of the fall science, technology, engineering and math, or Stem, studio.

Youth activities include storytimes at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Nov. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19. 

These sessions include both stories and crafts with themes changing each week. 

The Lego Building Club, which is intended for children 5 and older, will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24.

Those attending may use the library’s Legos to design and build something, then put it on display in the library. 

The STEM Studio is a drop-in program for children ages 8 to 12 who like to create art and build projects.

Held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, each of the monthly sessions will  focus on a specific craft project, art project or STEM-themed building activity. All supplies are provided by the library. 

DiNovember, which celebrates the world of dinosaurs, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20.

The session is intended for children 13 and younger along with a parent or guardian.

Those attending will create dinosaur jars and paper bag T-Rex puppets and go on a dinosaur scavenger hunt. 

Adult activities include a grief support group from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 5 and 19. 

The group is facilitated by Compassus Hospice. 

The D&D PW Bookwyrms group will meet from 5 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesdays at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 420 W. Whitefish Rd.

D&D or RPG players of all experience levels are welcome. 

The Friday Morning Book Talk group will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Port Washington Senior Center.

Copies of the featured book will be available for check out at the library.   

The Novel Ideas Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17.

A Short Story Hour will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12.

A Monarch Memory Cafe, a social gathering for individuals living with memory loss, Alzheimer’s or dementia and their family members, friends and professional caregivers, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17.
