A musical mix at Cabaret Night

Musical selections and time periods ran the gamut at Friday’s Cabaret Night at Cedar Grove-Belgium Middle School. Participants were able to rehearse in the afternoon for their evening performances. (Clockwise from left) High school math teacher Scott Tipple sang “Free Fallin’” by Tom Petty, Allison Niebauer rehearsed “Stand By Me” and Bolivian foreign exchange student Maria Guanam sang “A La Nanita Nana.” A total of 55 acts by students, staff, parents and alumni were performed to about 300 people. “One of the things we love about this fundraiser is that not only does it raise money for the choir’s Florida trip, but it gives students, staff, parents and alumni the opportunity to share their performance skills and abilities with the community,” choir director Linda Ruona said. The event’s theme was “A Night at the Movies,” and refreshments followed accordingly.                                                Photos by Sam Arendt
