Moving mountains of snow

It seems as if all Port Washington Street Department crews have done lately is plow and remove snow during the past couple weeks, Street Supt. JD Hoile said Tuesday. After more than a foot of snow fell early last week, crews removed 150 dump trucks worth of the white stuff from downtown. The snow filled the available space at the Street Department yard on Moore Road and virtually all the room at the marina, Hoile said, adding the city is beginning to deposit it in parking lots in Upper Lake Park. Standing next to one of those truckloads of snow as it was dropped off at the marina on Feb. 14 were street department crew members (from left) Casey Frey, Pat Meer and Hoile. And with more snow in the forecast, it seems as if crews will continue to be on snow duty for the foreseeable future.                                   Photo by Sam Arendt
