Most board races will be uncontested in April
There will be one contested race this spring for Fredonia-area voters, while there’s a decided lack of candidates in another election.
For the Fredonia Town Board, resident Matt Miller will run opposite incumbents Chris Janik and Mark Schubert. Town Chairman Lance Leider is unopposed.
Miller could not be reached for comment.
In the Fredonia Village Board election, Village President Don Dohrwardt and trustees John Long, Bill McLarty and Dan Gehrke are all unopposed.
In the Northern Ozaukee School Board election, Village of Fredonia representative Steve Burmesch is unopposed while there are no candidates for the Town of Belgium and at-large seats.
Tim Burmesch, who had represented the Town of Belgium since 2009, opted not to seek re-election.
Terms for the village and town board seats are three years. The vacant at-large school position is for one year.
Persons receiving the most write-in votes for the vacant ballot spots will be offered the positions.
A map of school district boundaries can be obtained at the school district office.
In the Random Lake School Board election, incumbents Jennifer Stevens, Matt Schoneman and newcomer Kris Kultgen are running for two open at-large seats.
