Model railroad show to be held March 12

The Metro Model Railroad Club will hold its annual show and swap meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at a new location — the Ozaukee Pavilion at the Ozaukee County fairgrounds in Cedarburg.

This is only the first move in a series for the show. It has traditionally been held at Circle B Recreation Center, but the pending sale of the business prompted this year’s change. Next year, it will be held in the Expo Center at the fairgrounds, which is a much larger facility.

This year’s show will feature the West Bend Kettle Moraine Ballast Scorchers’ layout in HO scale, as well as the Milwaukee Lionel Railroad Club’s O scale Lionel 3 rail trains.

Milwaukee and Southern will bring an N scale pike as well as the one-inch scale equipment of the Milwaukee Light Engineering Society.

Tim Hellmann will also bring a Lego built layout.

Club members will be on hand to answer questions and help with any problems those attending may have.

The show will also feature 50 tables of dealers who will buy, sell and swap model railroad equipment and memorabilia.

Admission is $4, with children younger than 12 admitted free with an adult.

The Metro Model Railroad Club has a permanent layout in Port Washington, where members meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
