Mildred M. “Millie” Hawig

Mildred M. “Millie” Hawig, age 103 of West Bend, formerly of Newburg, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at The Waterford at West Bend.
She was born Oct. 16, 1914, in St. Augustine, Town of Trenton, to the late Joseph and Anna (nee Lettner) Wollner.
Millie married Albert Hawig, the love of her life, on June 21, 1941. Al passed away on March 16, 1990.  
Millie is survived by her children Mary (Norman) Kufahl of Kewaskum, Joan (Bob) Hawig-Goebel of Grafton, Jane (Peter) Breitlow of West Allis and John (Brenda) Hawig of Sheboygan, eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren with three more babies expected within the next year, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister (twins) in infancy  and a sister, (Cecelia) Sr. Raphaelita Wollner, as well as four brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law, Sally (Herb) Weske, Norma (Leo) Wietor, Wilmer (Blanche) Hawig, Edward (Catherine)Hawig, Margaret Hawig and Viola Hawig.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg, with burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Father Kevin Kowalske will preside.
The family will greet visitors at the church from 9 until 11:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Holy Trinity Church or the Newburg Fire Department are appreciated.
The family wishes to thank the staff of The Waterford at West Bend and Hartland Hospice for the compassionate and loving care given to Millie.
