Mildred A. Lanser

 

Mildred A. Lanser passed away peacefully at home in Santa Maria, Calif., on Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1937, in Dacada, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Lanser on Sept. 19, 2018.  

She is survived by her five children, Nick Lanser, Randy Lanser, Danny Lanser, Wendy Lanser Row and Cindy Lanser Garcia,  and their spouses; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Kearn and Rosemary Pozy; sister-in-law Ruth Gasper; brother-in-law Father Wilbert Lanser; many nieces; nephews and friends.

Mildred attended Port Washington High School and married John Lanser on Oct. 6, 1956.

While being a mother to her children and supporting her husband’s military career, she graduated with a bachelor of art’s degree and masters of business administration degree from Chapman College.

She was a dedicated educator for 40 years, teaching at community colleges and adult education centers in Bakersfield and Antelope Valley, Calif.

She was very active in her community supporting U.S. Air Force Wives Clubs, the VFW and Special Olympics.  

Mildred will always be remembered as a very nice lady who always made people smile and laugh and in later years became a wonderful storyteller.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Agnes (Clarence) Egerer, Eugene Watry, Richard (Kathryn) Watry, Robert Watry (infant), Walter (Marilyn) Watry, Ralph (Nancy) Watry, Dolores (Roy) Tock, Elaine (Ervin) Karrels, Monica (Jim) Schultz, Janet (Tom) Hogan, Janice (Don) Phillips, Susie (Tim) Newmann and Ginny Junge; and brothers-in-laws, Frank Pozy, Kenneth Gasper, Bob Lanser and Elmer Fink; and sister-in-law Dorothy Fink.
