Former Fredonia trustee Rudy McCormick was appointed to the village’s Plan Commission and Architectural Review Board last week.

McCormick was nominated by Village President Don Dohrwardt and approved unanimously by the Village Board.

“Rudy was very helpful during the recodification process,” Dohrwardt said.

McCormick was appointed to the Village Board in October 2017 to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Lisa Dohrwardt.

In the following April election, in which five candidates competed for three seats, McCormick finished fourth behind Joshua Haas, Richard Abegglen and incumbent Jill Bertram.

In July 2018, McCormick was one of five candidates to replace Neil Wagner, who resigned from the board.

After three rounds of secret balloting, Bill McLarty was elected over McCormick on a 4-2 vote.
