Mary Helen Burmesch

Mary Helen Burmesch of Belgium was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at the age of 90.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1932, to Alois and Margaret (nee Holbach) Lesch.

Mary Helen was united in marriage with Donald P. Burmesch on May 16, 1953, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, and together they had a beautiful family of four.

Mary Helen was a prolific crocheter.  She loved to make homemade gifts for her friends and family, and above all she treasured her time with those she loved.

Mary Helen is survived by her children Debra (Steven) Schanen of Grafton, Pamela Uselding-Plier of Cedar Grove and  Donald (Darlene) Burmesch Jr. of Cascade and  daughter-in-law Colleen Burmesch of Port Washington.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and her brother-in-law Gerald (Judith) Burmesch.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Sr., her son Jeffrey “Pudgy,” sons-in-law Gerald Uselding and Jeffrey Plier, brothers, sisters and best friend Lorraine Large.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at Divine Savior Catholic Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 County Road B, Belgium, WI 53004.

The Burmesch family would like to extend a special thank you to the emergency room and third floor staff of Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the American Lung Association.

Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
