March programs set at Niederkorn Library

March programs for adults at the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington have been announced.

A grief support group  meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month in the community room. The group is free to attend and open to anyone experiencing grief. It is facilitated by Colson Leach, bereavement coordinator with Compassus Hospice.

“The Power of Vision,” a workshop  to teach steps toward success and extraordinary results, will be held by life coach Michele Barney at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 2.

This workshop is for teenagers through  senior citizens who want to learn strategies to refine their purpose and make progress towards growth, no matter what their goals are and wherever they are in their journey.   

Herb Thyme grab n’ go kits will be available beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, March 2.

Each month this spring, a kit will be offered that highlights a different herb. Included will be dried herbs, seeds to plant and recipes to use the herbs.

One kit will be available per person while supplies last.

A family finance class for new parents will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, in the community room.

Northwestern Mutual financial representative Adam Reither will lead the class, which will address how having a family can change income and expenses, how to manage long term goals, budgeting, investing and college expenses, as well as how to protect your income and estate planning.

A career planning workshop will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.

Emily Smith, a human resources consultant with Ansay & Associates, will provide  one-on-one assistance with career planning needs, including resume reviewing, interview preparation, job searches and applications. 

Participants may drop-in or register for an appointment at the library.

The Friday Morning Book Talk group will meet in the quiet room at 9:30 a.m. March 10.

The group is sponsored by the Port Washington Senior Center, but adults of all ages are welcome. Copies of each month’s book selection are available for check out.

“D&D PW Bookwyrs” will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

The group is intended for local game enthusiasts to join a D&D or RPG session. Players and game masters of all experience levels are welcome.

Games will be played in the community room or quiet room.

Exotic animals from the Lakeshore Avian and Reptile Rescue & Sanctuary will be at the community room at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16.

The event is for people of all ages to meet native wildlife and learn how to take care of wild and exotic animals.

The Novel Ideas Book Club will meet in the quiet room at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2.

The club is intended for fiction fanatics. Copies of the selected book will be available at the front desk.

The BYOBook Club will meet at Inventors BrewPub at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 23.

Those attending may share the book they are currently reading no matter the genre. The library is at 316 W. Grand Ave.
