A 32-year-old Town of Belgium man is accused in Ozaukee County Circuit Court of repeatedly abusing his girlfriend, at one point holding a gun to her head as he choked her.

Alexander A. Thill faces a litany of criminal charges filed on June 18 in connection with three alleged attacks that date to July 2024.

Thill has yet to appear in Ozaukee County Circuit Court because he is being held in jail in lieu of $10,000 bail in Sheboygan County, where he was charged on June 4 with felony counts of false imprisonment and intimidating a witness and a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Ozaukee County, Thill’s girlfriend called the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 24 to report she was the victim of several past attacks by Thill at her Town of Belgium home.

The first incident occurred sometime between July 4 and Aug. 18, 2024, she said, after she heard sirens near her home and suspected they may have had something to do with Thill, since he commonly drove while intoxicated, the complaint states.

The woman said she went outside to find Thill behind the wheel of his truck in the driveway in a semi-conscious state. When she gently shook him, he became angry, grabbed her by the waist and threw her “like a sack of potatoes,” according to the complaint.

While she was on the ground, the woman said, Thill went inside the house. She did not want her son, who was at the house, to be alone with Thill, so she went inside. Thill then threw her against a wall.

During another incident in December of 2024, the woman said, Thill became angry  and threw her onto a mattress so hard the bed frame broke.

The woman said she feared for her safety, so she ran downstairs and tried leaving the house through the front door, but Thill grabbed her by the waist, ripped her away from the door and threw her to the floor, the complaint states.

She said he then grabbed her by the neck with his right hand and began to choke her while drawing a semi-automatic handgun from his waistband with his left hand and pressing it against her temple. The woman said she couldn’t breathe, her vision became “speckled” and she lost consciousness, according to the complaint.

When the woman regained consciousness, Thill was smiling and said something to the effect of, “This is what’s waiting for whoever’s outside. Tell them I have a bullet waiting for them.” Thill eventually fell asleep on a pull-out couch with the gun, which the woman believed was loaded, in his waistband, the complaint states.

On June 11, 2025, the woman said, she and Thill were discussing politics when he became angry and destroyed jewelry she had made for a craft fair and pushed her against a wall.

The woman said she suffered a cut to her arm and she and Thill went to a hospital, then to a Meijer store to buy medical supplies. In the parking lot of the store, Thill tossed the car key to the woman but then wanted it back. When the woman refused to give him the key because he was drunk and had been driving erratically, Thill grabbed her injured arm and bent it back, causing her pain, according to the complaint.

Thill is charged with felony counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, strangulation and suffocation and false imprisonment, as well as six misdemeanors — two counts of battery, battery with the use of a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct with the use of a dangerous weapon and two counts of disorderly conduct.

In Sheboygan County Circuit Court, Thill was bound over for trial on the charges he faces there during a June 18 preliminary hearing.
