Luxembourg Society holds online auction

An online auction being held by the Luxembourg American Cultural Society  runs from June 14 through June  23.

Five Luxembourg-focused experiences are up for auction, with proceeds going to support the Society and Luxembourg Fest.

The items for auction include:

• Dinner for as many as six people with Nicole Bintner-Bakshian,  the Luxembourg ambassador to the United States, at the Washington, D.C., embassy. Included is a $1,500 gift card for travel expenses.

• A table for eight at Luxembourg Under the Stars in Port Washington on Saturday, Aug. 12. The Luxembourgish menu will be curated by Luxembourg dual citizen and CEO of the Lowlands Restaurant Group Eric Wagner and chef Rebecca Berkshire. Included in the packed is an exclusive gift for each guest.

• Tickets for four people to “Prost! Luxembourg Tasting Experience,” held in the Society’s gardens. The event includes tastings of new and beloved favorites of Luxembourg wines, beers, ciders imported by Ansay International and appetizers incorporating imported items from Luxembourg. A gift basket is part of the experience.

• “Share your Family Story for Generations,” an oral history package produced by oral historian and Society staff member Olivia Hoff. The package includes a consultation, oral history interviews lasting as long as two  hours, a professionally edited audio and a copy of interview transcript.

• A traditional homemade four-course Luxembourg dinner for eight guests made by Luxembourg’s Nicky Krueger-Loos on Saturday, Aug. 5, in Oconomowoc. Light appetizers and a cocktail hour with Luxembourg beer and wine is included. Krueger-Loos has taught hundreds of LACS online program participants how to cook traditional Luxembourg cuisine.
