Luxembourg Fest a success

Belgium held its annual Luxembourg Fest with most events taking place last Saturday. From the top photo, Allen Buchholz and his 1-year-old granddaughter Veda Recob were decked out in festive attire; Father Richard Kramer perused a selection of Luxembourg flags; a banner during the annual parade honored the Ronk family; Emily and Jan Malkowski (from left) and Marty Franzkowiak were ready to serve at a separate event Friday night called Rock the Fest run by Mel’s Charities; Anna Feider and Joey Fahney led a line of tractors in the parade; and Roger Karels and Ron Weyker stood at the ready with treipen, Luxembourg’s version of black pudding. The fest held its largest car show to date, and helicopter rides and the University of Wisconsin marching band were big hits, Luxembourg American Cultural Society and Center Director of Marketing and Events Jason Bott said.
