Louis Probst

    Louis N. Probst, age 100, of Port Washington, Wis., peacefully passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, Wis.
    Lou was born in Addyston, Ohio, on Sept. 20, 1920. He was the son of Louis and Lillian Bates Probst.  
    He attended Taylor High School in North Bend, Ohio, and upon graduation, waited for the love of his life to graduate.
    He married Ruth Eileen Mueller of Cleves, Ohio, on June 3, 1944. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2008. They were together for 64 years.
    In 1944, Lou “joined” the U.S. Army and was a tanker in the 14th Armored Division in the European Theatre of World War II.  
    After returning from the Army, Lou attended the Art Academy in Cincinnati. He soon took a job as a commercial artist.
    Lou retired as executive vice president and marketing manager for Jung Products in Cincinnati in 1962.
    In 2003, Lou and Ruth moved to Port Washington, Wis., residing at Harbor Village.
    Though art hadn’t been his job for many years, it continued as a lifelong passion, and he was still drawing and creating at age 100.
    He is survived by his son Eric (Linsey Nix) Probst of Port Washington and grandson Joseph.
    No services will be held at this time. Final interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cleves, Ohio.
