Louella Rios

Louella “Bunny” Rios, 74, died Saturday, March 24, at her Port Washington home.

She was born in Keshena on April 25, 1943, to Mitchell and Alice Cummings Wesho, and attended local schools in Keshena.

Her family said she had the heart of an explorer and made her way out west to settle in California in the 1980s.

On June 16, 1984, she married Remijio “Mickey” Rios in Whittier, Calif. The couple lived in California for 15 years before moving back to Wisconsin.

While in California, Mrs. Rios was a member of Good Shepherd Bible Church in Whittier. Mrs. Rios and her husband spent many years working in prison ministry, especially with youth, in the southern California region. They visited camps, jails and prisons to bring the word of Jesus to troubled kids.

According to her family, Mrs. Rios enjoyed going for early morning walks, on which she would pray and meditate. She liked traveling to the coast with her husband to enjoy the scenery, shopping and socializing with friends.

Mrs. Rios is survived by her husband Mickey of Port Washington; children Lisa (Chris) Kieper of Saukville, Clinton Beauprey Burkett of Washington, Christine Beauprey Stewart of Clintonville, Craig McDaniel of California and Joseph McDaniel of Tennessee; nine step-children; numerous grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Quentin Bartles Beauprey, three sisters and four brothers.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Portview Church in Port Washington. The Rev. Mark Larson will preside.

Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from noon until the service.
