Seventeen area students were among the more than 1,850 students who graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater May 16.

Hugh Gillette of Cedar Grove earned a bachelor of science degree in criminology.

Eva Hernandez Cortes of Grafton graduated cum laude with a bachelor of business administration degree in human resource management.

Lucy Holmes of Grafton received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism.
