Live at the Triangle concert series scheduled to return this summer
After its Covid-19 spurred cancellation last year, the Village of Saukville’s popular Live at the Triangle free summer concert series will return to Veterans Park in downtown Saukville.
“We’re anxious to bring it back for folks to have a good time,” Saukville Village President Barb Dickmann said. “We’re hoping we can do this successfully this year. There’s plenty of room to socially distance.”
Over the years, Live at the Triangle has become one of the prime summer entertainment and community gathering staples in the 4,421-resident Ozaukee County community.
“We have seen growth in Live at the Triangle over the years we have done it,” Dickmann said. “It’s always been a really excellent venue where people can come with their families and enjoy a variety of free music.”
Four evening shows will be held this summer, with concerts on alternating Wednesdays beginning July 21 and continuing Aug. 4 and 18 and Sept. 1.
The concerts will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Veterans Park, 201 E. Dekora St. (Highway 33), one mile west of I-43 in the downtown heart of the Village of Saukville. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the event.
Headlining entertainers will be as follows:
• Wednesday, July 21 — ‘The Verdict,’ Classic Rock. The high-energy band features Eric Zaeske on bass, Stephen Banach on drums, and Brad Stern on guitar.
• Wednesday, Aug. 4 — ‘FM Rodeo,’ Modern Country. Chosen 2018 Wisconsin State Country Band Champion at the Hodag Country Festival in Rhinelander, ‘FM Radio’ makes use of crisp harmonies, spicy fiddle licks, and ripping guitar solos to deliver high-energy shows bound to get people two-steppin’.
• Wednesday, Aug. 18 — ‘The Shad Lads.’ This five-piece southeastern Wisconsin rock band plays music from across a wide spectrum — vintage rock, country and other popular hit music from the 60’s through today’s current hits.
• Wednesday, Sept. 1 — ‘Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal,’ Blues/Rhythm and Blues. In 2017, Hoyer was a featured contestant on NBC’s “The Voice.” Inspired by the sounds of Stax, Motown, Muscle Shoals, New Orleans, Philly, and San Francisco, the band continuously crosses musical boundaries, both in style and era.
Live at the Triangle is presented by the Village of Saukville, Saukville Chamber of Commerce, Port Washington State Bank, Ruan, Village Sno-Seekers, and Ozaukee Press, along with other local sponsors.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the park from local businesses and service clubs.
If inclement weather leads to a concert cancellation, Live at the Triangle organizers will try to reschedule the concert for the following Wednesday. Watch for a ‘News Flash’ at www.village.saukville.wi.us.
Each of the Live at the Triangle nights will also include a ‘Cruise Night’ with custom and stock automobiles and motorcycles on display. Those interested in participating should contact Phil Vincevineus at 675-9098 for more information.
To better accommodate the Live at the Triangle concerts and Cruise Night displays, Green Bay Avenue south of the park will be closed for the concert evenings. Highway 33 and South Mill Street west of the park will both remain open for traffic unless the size of the audience dictates otherwise.
The goal of Live at the Triangle is to present free quality music for the enjoyment of Saukville residents and area visitors while simultaneously supporting the continued growth of the community.
The Village of Saukville asks that all attendees keep in mind Covid-19 guidelines for safe gatherings, including physical distancing and the use of face coverings in close contact situations.
