Libraries host Family Day at Horicon Marsh June 29

The seventh annual Family Fun Day at the Horicon Marsh sponsored by the monarch Library System will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29.

Also known as Library Day at the Marsh, the library system and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources hold a day of nature, hands-on learning and experiences, history, crafts, food and fun.

There will be a special story time at 11 a.m. with Alaska the Therapy Dog.

Other activities include archery, tours of the Horicon Marsh Explorium, wildlife walks, dip netting, a marsh scavenger hunt and challenge, face painting, photo booth and crafts.

Families are welcome to pack a picnic, and hot dogs, chips, baked goods and water will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will be held rain or shine. The center will remain open until 5 p.m. and there will be access to restrooms and a drinking fountain until 7 p.m.
