LETTER: Wetland filling for golf course violates public trust doctrine
To Ozaukee Press:
Thank you for bringing the important update regarding the recent court ruling rescinding the wetland fill permits granted by the Wisconsin DNR to Herbert Kohler Jr. for his proposed golf course to the attention of your readers in the editorial, “Nature wins a round of golf.”
Valuable natural area ecosystems like this are becoming increasingly rare and need to be protected. Wisconsin’s Navigable Waters Public Trust Doctrine, whose origins date back to the Magna Carta, is part of our state Constitution.
For some reason the press in Sheboygan County has failed to cover this story.
