LETTER: Thanks to Walker, Wisconsin’s health care system leads U.S.

To Ozaukee Press:

Gov. Scott Walker has continued to move Wisconsin forward with his reforms to health care. After Washington failed to repeal and replace Obamacare, Gov. Walker took action. With the passage of his bold, market-based reforms, Wisconsin is continuing to work toward a more stable, patient-centered health care system.

These conservative reforms are proving to work. Our state health care system is ranked first in the nation for quality, and Gov. Walker is working to address the high costs of the individual market. The goal is to create a more patient-centered health care system.

Moreover, Gov. Walker’s reform of BadgerCare has led to positive results. BadgerCare now covers everyone living in poverty and even those with pre-existing conditions will be guaranteed coverage, and seniors are seeing their prescription costs lowered. The governor was able to do all of this without having to take Washington’s Obamacare expansion money.
